MARY JEAN RYBUS's Obituary
MARY JEAN RYBUS, Mary was born on August 24, 1921 in Elmhurst, IL, to George F. Hammerschmidt and Ella P. Hammerschmidt. She passed away on June 1, 2011, after suffering an acute myocardial infarction. She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 siblings. She is survived by her children: Susan S. Cummins (Dr. R. Michael) of Tucson; Jean A. Belz (Ray) of Tyler, TX and Dr. Thomas M. Stoker (Venetia Guerrasio) of West Newbury, MA. Marys grandchildren are Todd Foster of Philadelphia, PA; Casey Foster (Carmen) of Martinez, CA; Christopher Cummins of Tucson; Timothy Cummins (Rebecca) of Tucson; Elizabeth Stoker of NYC, NY and Jonathan Stoker of Cambridge, MA. Her great grandchildren are Abigail Foster and Owen Foster, both of Martinez, CA. Mary was a precocious child, with an independent spirit, a blue ribbon in her hair and a twinkle in her eye. She loved nothing more than singing at her familys formal dining table. She was a good student in school. An expert seamstress, she majored in dress design at Stephens College. She married Dr. Martin Stoker, her high school sweetheart, in 1943. After having three children, this marriage ended in divorce in 1966. She went on to marry Michael Agostinello, who brought her from Illinois to Tucson, and, after Michaels death, she married Edwin Rybus. After Edwins death, she led a quiet lifestyle, enjoying sewing, handcrafting, her soap operas and friends and neighbors in Kachina Hills. Her family meant everything to her in the last few years of her life, although she never lost her independent spirit and that twinkle in her eye. Her life was celebrated by her entire family on June 6, 2011, at her daughters home in Tucson. Arrangements are by EVERGREEN MORTUARY & CEMETERY.
