Abraham and Caleb Timler
Abe: Dear Mom we miss you terribly.
Cal: Dear Mom, whenever I got hurt as a child, you would pick me up and sing "I love my little baby" to ease my crying.
Abe: Dear Mom, You always wanted a large family, and after four children there was still room in your heart to care for more. When our garbage disposal broke down in our house in Missouri, it was your idea to put the leftovers on our porch to feed the racoon families.
Cal: Dear Mom, You would invite me to watch crime TV shows, because you at one time wanted to be a lawyer.
Abe: Dear Mom, You kept track of all our tests, praying for them the night before. Whether taking spelling retakes like when I spelled "bear" as "bar" or driver's tests when I ran over a lawn chair while practicing parallel parking.
Cal: Dear Mom When I was scared, You would bring over your Bible and read from Jesus' Sermon on the Mount.
Abe: Blessed are the poor in Spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven.
Cal: Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted.
Abe: Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
Cal: Dear Mom, you never let me leave for school without a hug, and said that without a hug would be a difficult day. I now realise you wer speaking for both of us.
Abe: Dear Mom, During my long and uncertain military deployment in the Middle East I was only allowed two fifteen-minute calls a month. You found a way for us to call for one-hour every Wednesday until I returned to the US.
Cal: Dear Mom, When I was younger I made birdhouses for you out of cardboard or wood and usually used too many nails or too much paint so they would fall apart in the wind. But you were so proud of them. I am leaving you my best one.
Abe: Dear Mom, When I was six years old I made a Christmas tree ornament in Sunday School. It was an Angel that would stick to the fridge. For the first time in 22 years, I will not be seeing you put it up for Christmas.
Cal: Dear Mom, So many times these past years, doctors and nurses wanted you in a nursing home. You refused saying "I need to raise my son"
Abe: Dear Mom, Whenever you saw me lost in pages of Atlases you would say I would see all those places like London, Hawaii, Australia...When you saw me studying the galaxies on our kitchen table placemats, you promised I would see those too.
Cal: You noticed I would lean out of my car seat to watch bulldozers, dump trucks, and cement trucks. So you and I watched "Bob the Builder" on TV, you bought me Lego construction toy sets, Lincoln Logs, and so many other toys.
Abe: Dear Mom, when you saw me reading "The Great Gatsby" for the first time, You said one day, I would write like him. When you saw Grandpa and me watch the NBA games, you bought me a basketball goal. When we watched the Grammy Awards, for everyone's good, you never said I'd be a singer!
Cal; I am 17 and old enough to clean my room and make my bed. Even though you were very sick Mom, you insisted on doing those things yourself because you were "my mother".
Abe: Dear Mom, when you drove us to Vacation Bible School, or errands, we said we could not wait to drive ourselves one day.
Cal: And in school, we could not wait for summer vacations.
Abe: And in high school, we could not wait for college, and in college to graduate and get jobs, and have our own families.
Cal: but we wait to see you again.
Abe: And I have seen all those places on the maps,
Cal: The only place on the map where I can find you is in the Scriptures.
Abe: Where in Heaven you wait and pray for us.
Where in Revelations 21:4 "GOD shall wipe away all tears, and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor weeping, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed."
