Max Dohring's Obituary
Chief Warrant Officer 4 Max Dohring, 81, went to be with his heavenly father on Sept. 22nd, 2017 in Tucson, Arizona.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, (Loriene) Jackie Dohring; his only brother Steve Dohring; three children, Bob Dohring, Steve Dohring and Dawn Houchins; eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren with number 12 in the oven. He is preceded in death by his parents Hans and Margaret Dohring and son Dale Dohring.
Max proudly served as a pilot in the Air Force and then the Army from 1955-1981. During his service, Max was awarded with the following decorations and medals: Distinguished Flying Cross (1st OLC), Bronze Star Medal (2nd OLC), Air Medal (1-52nd Award), Meritorious Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal (2nd Award), Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Humanitarian Service medal (Guyana), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Senior Army Aviation Badge, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Bronze Star, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, 4 Overseas Bars, Armed Forces Reserve Medal (2nd Award), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Ribbon and Army Commendation Medal.
Max was intelligent, kind and the epitome of a good and honorable man. He loved flying and always said he couldn't believe they paid him for doing that. He enjoyed telling jokes, traveling with his wife, and playing board games with family and friends. He will forever be fondly thought of and greatly missed.
A Memorial will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery, 3015 N Oracle Rd., Tucson, AZ 85705, on Sept. 30th, 2017 at 2pm. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Alzheimer's Association or any cause of your choice.
