Michael Christopher Duran's Obituary
Michael Christopher Duran of Tucson, 46 years old, passed away in his home surrounded by family on Friday January 12, 2018 following a courageous three year battle with cancer. Preceded in death by his mother, Rosemary Pasoz; he is survived by his beloved wife, Blanca of 16 years; devoted father of Mona and Beto; dear brother of Margaret Dominguez (Marco Paez), Marlo Pasoz (Rudy Quihuis); dear brother-in-law of Carmen and Frank Hemrick; cherished uncle to Angel Tagalog, Roxanne Martinez, Annette Medina, and Rosanne Betancourt. He was a cousin, uncle, and friend to many more. Mr. Duran was born prematurely on September 19, 1971 at Tucson Medical Center weighing only 2.14 ounces; following a three month stay in the hospital, he was able to go home healthy. He graduated from Desert View High School and started working as a chef at El Conquistador. He worked at two Arizona prisons as a correctional officer and then at FedEx as a delivery driver. He became a business owner at FedEx after purchasing various delivery routes and then opened his own package delivery store called Speed Mail years later. He was a hardworking man, dedicated to producing value for every employer and to his personal success. It was love at first sight when Michael met his wife Blanca and their life together was abundant with beautiful memories. Some of his favorite pastimes included jamming out on the guitar, watching action films, and going to the U of A football games with his best friend, Pancho. He treasured the time that he spent with his wife and family more than anything. He was the most comforting and the warmest hug that existed, his love was unconditional. Anyone who knew Michael knew that his smile was bright and that his laugh was contagious. He was a patient, kind, humble, and selfless man. There is an emptiness in the world without him now, but his legacy will live on forever through the hearts that he touched. Visitation is at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday January 16, at EVERGREEN Mortuary on Oracle Rd & Miracle Mile, followed by a chapel service at 12:00 p.m.
