Michael Andrew Mullens' Obituary
We remember Michael A. Mullens, whose spirit departed from us on January 3, 2025 at the age of 68. Mike was born on October 3, 1956 in Wilcox, AZ to Robert and Lucy Mullens.
Mike graduated from Marana High School and began a career working for El Paso Natural Gas Co. He met and married the love of his life, Amalia, known to all of us as Sally, in 1980. They shared 39 ½ years of marriage before her death.
Mike was well known for his love of gardening, growing monstrous melons and abundant vegetables. He enjoyed collecting rocks and polishing them. Every Christmas he made his famous cinnamon candy to share with family and friends.
Mike was a devoted Catholic, rarely missing a Sunday Mass until his health deteriorated. He also was a member of The Knights of Columbus local council #5542.
He is survived by his only child, Michael J. Mullens and his two grandchildren, Brianna and Brian. He is also survived by his sister Sandy Graves of Tucson, his brother John Mullens of Tempe, four sisters-in-law, 3 brothers-in-law, 2 nieces, and 7 nephews.
A Rosary will be recited Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Bartholomew’s Catholic Church in San Manuel. Mass will follow at 10:00 a.m.
