Milbert Victor Herman's Obituary
Milbert Victor Herman “Bud”, born August 10th, 1930, went home to be with the Lord on December 16, 2017. Born in North Dakota, Bud served in the U.S. Navy aboard the Aircraft Carrier, the Coral Sea. It was while he was stationed in San Diego, CA, that he met the love of his life, soon to be Marie Herman. Following the Navy, Bud worked for Mountain Bell Telephone Co/US West for 27 years, where his job prior to his first retirement, was supporting the Tucson International Airport’s (TIA) Air Traffic Control Tower’s communication systems. While making plans to retire from US West, Bud was approached by the head of Tucson International, requesting that he go through with his retirement, then come to work immediately for the airport, running the entire airports communications systems and department. He was TIA’s Communications Manager for the next 19+ years retiring a second time, only to take personal care of Marie for the next 12 years, until her death. Bud had approximately a year to tinker in his workshop until his sister became ill, where he then devoted his time to taking care of her until her death. In his early years, Bud served as the head usher and regional lead for the Royal Rangers at the Central Assembly of God Church, where he assisted in building the main sanctuary which is now Tucson Tabernacle on Stove Ave. Many years later, he served as an elder at Grace Chapel. It was here that he established the church’s first organized structure for ushers and truly enjoyed training and encouraging each participant. You’d never see him without a warm smile, a hug, mint’s for the adults and of course, candy for the kids.
Always giving of himself, Bud was an incredible “behind the scenes” person who never demanded attention. A true Servant’s Heart. He will be missed.
He leaves his three daughters, Jonalie (Dave/dec.) Bachmann, Millett Pedersen, Marcilene Pribonic; seven grandchildren, Victor and D’yonne Bachmann, Jason (Linda) and Jerek Pedersen, Janaye (Ryan) Steele, Chad (Alexa) and Chelsie Pribonic; thirteen great-grandchildren, Thalia Bachmann, and Dawsen, Bryce Pedersen and Kynslie, Kolsen, Kaybriella, Korelise, Kyrie, Kaili Steele and C.J., Joey, Kharyzma, Mykael Pribonic and brothers Myron (Lori), Moe, and Jack (Carla) Herman, and sisters Ann (Floyd/dec.) Pfeifle and Pat (George) Eger.
Memorial Service to be held Thursday, March 1, 2018, 4:00 p.m. at EVERGREEN MORTUARY & CEMETERY, N. Oracle & W. Miracle Mile.
