Minnie Marie Toben's Obituary
Minnie Marie Toben, 1920-2012. Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Minnie Toben, fell asleep in Jesus on June 14, 2012, with her daughter Marsha at her side. Born in Rock Falls, Illinois, on August 6, 1920, Minnie was married to William Toben on April 4, 1942. Minnie and Bill moved to Tucson following their wedding, and Minnie lived in Tucson seventy years. Minnie and Bill had four children: William of Tucson; Marsha Krueger of Carlsbad, CA; Ruth Losurdo of Batavia, IL; and John of Holland, MI. Minnie's husband Bill passed away in 1980. Minnie was a housewife and mother until her youngest son entered high school. She then worked at Bullards for twenty-four years until the store closed in 1994. She was a volunteer at Northwest Hospital for ten years after that and was very active in her church, Redeemer Lutheran. She taught Sunday School, was a member of the women's group and did visitation. Minnie was a woman of steadfast, Christian faith who was known for her cheerful spirit. She inspired us all with her kindness and non-judgmental attitude and she touched many hearts with her gentle, loving way. Minnie is survived by her four children and their spouses, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held in Redeemer Lutheran Church at 8845 N. Silverbell Road on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church.
