Mona Carole Niehaus Obituary
Tucsonan since 1943, Mona Carole (BAMBAUER) Niehaus, 83, passed away on July 22, 2017. A beloved mother, friend, teacher and world traveler, she is survived by sons Chuck (Tammy) and David Cunningham, grand children Sara (David) Ploense, Joshua (Kayleigh) Cunningham, and great grandchild Gracie Cunningham. She is preceded in death by her brother, Edward "Bill" Bambauer (2016), and parents Edward Bambauer (1955) and Leona Bambauer (1996).
Mona Niehaus taught 1st and 3rd Grade for 29 years, mostly at Blenman Elementary, and helped to elevate that school to A+ status. Upon retirement, Mona became an A+ traveler, and 17 journeys to Europe later, she won the “Timeless Traveler Award” from the UA Alumni Association. Best of all, Mona was an A+ mother. Rest in peace beloved Mom, and save us a seat at the front of the class.
