Monica Lynn McSorley's Obituary
Monica Lynn McSorley joined her parents James McSorley and Guadalupe Vazquez in heavenly bliss on March 10, 2021.
Born on December 18, 1980, adopted at just 3 days old in the San Fernando Valley, “Moni Linda” completed the family of three, a.k.a The Three Musketeers. Monica was raised in a very loving and caring environment. This instilled a deep sense of kindness and empathy which she would display throughout her fabulous forty years on Earth. In her early twenties, the California native relocated to Tucson, Arizona to be with her dad after her mother’s passing. “Moni” enjoyed sharing inspirational quotes, writing in her journal, long drives, listening to music, working out, hanging out with family and friends, exploring nature and taking care of her “daddy”. When the opportunity presented itself, “Ica” moved to Seattle, Washington for a new adventure where she quickly blossomed in her new surroundings, both personally and professionally. Monica’s love for the outdoors only grew bigger, as did her adventures and dreams. Fulfilling one of those lifelong dreams, she was able to both visit and navigate New York City solo, including tracking down the infamous “McSorley Bar”.
Even through the tremendous grief from the loss of her father, Monica continued to spread joy. Always polite, positive, and grateful, Monica’s beautiful and bright spirit will forever be missed and never forgotten by everyone who was blessed to know and love her.
A celebration of Monica’s life will be held on Friday, May 7th, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Evergreen Mortuary & Cemetery – 3015 North Oracle Road, Tucson AZ - followed by a reception at the Ignite Museum – 331 S Olsen St, Tucson, AZ - at 1:00 p.m. Attendees are required to wear a mask and keep reasonable social distance.
