Nancy C. Damiani's Obituary
Nancy Damiani departed this world and was welcomed into the presence of her Savior, Jesus, on October 17, 2020 in Tucson, Arizona. She will be remembered as someone who deeply loved her God and her family. Throughout her life, her generosity and selflessness touched the lives of all who knew her – family, friends, the students she taught and her colleagues.
Nancy was born on October 4, 1935 in Chicago, Illinois. She was preceded in her death by her beloved husband, Richard “Dick” Damiani, and by an unnamed great grandchild she has now met for the first time. She is survived by her four children – Pat, Dave, Bill and Sally, her five grandchildren – Pam, Peter, Wesley, Emily and Isaac, and six great grandchildren – Haley, Maddison, Joshua, Kylie, Brayden, and one on the way.
It was her wish that upon her death that those who knew her would not mourn, but that they would celebrate with her knowing that she is in the presence of Jesus. A graveside celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 31 at 10:00 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery, 3015 N. Oracle Road. Although attendance will not be limited, the family requests that for the safety of others that face coverings be worn and physical distancing be maintained to the degree it is possible.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor Nancy’s life may donate in her name to the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona, 3003 S Country Club Rd, Tucson, AZ 85713.
