Nancy Lee Grossman's Obituary
Nancy Grossman (nee’ Nancy Lee Brock) Born 11/29/42 Died 4/6/24
Her last weeks were a combination of anguish over things past that she wanted desperately to change, but couldn’t , some laughter here and there, pain, relief here and there, tears, and a lot of love.
I am immensely grateful to her patient and exceptionally tolerant caregivers, Irma, Melissa, Tawnya, and Maribel who cooked, cleaned, lifted, transferred, and bathed her with a gentleness for which there is no equal.
And to her husband, Herbert, who never gave up trying to find a miracle cure, spoke to her so lovingly and tenderly and gave everything he could to comfort her physically and emotionally. May we all be so lucky to have such a devoted spouse.
She lived to be 80 and a half years old (although she’d still try to convince you she was 10 years younger than that) and was just as beautiful as ever.
Born in Mississippi, she was a southern belle, who charmed the best of them, broke most of the rules, and dreamed BIG!
As a teenager her parents took her with them when they moved to Okinawa, where she learned to speak Japanese.
Not long after they all repatriated, she met and eventually married my father in Charleston, SC.
With his parents in Los Angeles, and her dream of living in the limelight, they both moved to California, where I was born.
Later, as a divorcee, she surrounded herself with lovely friends, had many adventures, and collected many stories.
She remarried multiple times, and finally found a love that would endure. Her husband is Dr. Herbert Grossman. They shared 16 years together until she died. He was by her side at the hospital in Tucson when she took her final breath.
She was a force of nature, and for those who knew her, life will never be the same with her gone.
Goodbye momma
