Nanette Bertha Long's Obituary
Nanette B Long
July 7, 1922--December 28, 2017
Born July 7, 1922 in Chicago Illinois. Resident of Tucson since 1948. Beloved wife of Ivan D. Long: son Larry (Carolyn) Long, Grandmother of Keith (Jana) Long, Michael Long, Steven Long, Great-grandmother of Bryce Long, Brandon Long, Bradley Long, and Conor Long. Nanette and Ivan were married 1939 in Chicago Illinois. They operated and renovated apartment buildings and Ivan also sold cars (until WWII) and then life insurance. They moved to Tucson in 1948 because of Nanette's sinus problems. They operated Shady Tree Court and Long's grocery store from 1948 to 1956. Nanette and Ivan started Oracle Road Rent-All in 1956. Nanette liked to paint and has many paintings. Ivan passed away in 2006. Nanette loved her family and was very generous and supportive of all of the family. She was also generous to charities. Nanette had an excellent memory and liked to talk. She would tell about her experiences in detail. Her mother died while she and her brother and sister were young, and they were all sent to separate foster homes. She had many experiences to tell about. She had a full and eventful life.
Our family greatly appreciates the loving care from the folks at Home Instead Tucson, and Casa de la Luz Hospice Tucson, helping Nanette and our family through her final days.
