Norma Ruth Wilson's Obituary
Norma Ruth Wilson was born on July 7, 1931, and passed away in Tucson, Arizona, on December 14, 2024. She was raised by her grandparents on a small farm near Pickering, Missouri. Norma joined the Women’s Army Corps during the Korean War, serving two years in Italy and later in the reserves. Her interest in basketball began while playing on a women’s team during her military service. She was a dedicated fan of the Wildcats.
Norma attended the UA-Tucson thanks to the GI Bill, graduating summa cum laude with a degree in education. Later, while teaching at Cragin Elementary School, she earned her master's degree in reading. She enjoyed her 29 years of teaching at Cragin.
After retiring, Norma volunteered with Veterans WAC groups and continued her passion for raising and showing Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers.
