Olivia Dee Arlotta's Obituary
Olivia Dee Arlotta passed peacefully on October 21,2024 at 3:33pm after a very difficult battle with lewy body dementia. She was 80 years old. Olivia was born in Los Angeles California and lived there most of her life with her husband John. She married John (Giovanni)Arlotta in December of 1963. They had two daughters Lina and Angela.
Olivia worked for over 30 years at Benjamin Franklin High School, Los Angeles in the school cafeteria. She would wake up early every morning rain or shine to open the cafeteria and assist the pastry chef making breakfast and lunch for the teachers and the students. She retired in approximately 2008 from her career with Los Angeles Unified School District.
Olivia’s primary love was quality time with her family. She loved the holidays and everything that they bring. She adored her grandchildren Samantha, Craig, Autumn and Vincent and her great grandson Gio. Most unfortunately because of her illness she did not get to meet her newest great-grandchild Faye.
Olivia also loved music and travel and spending time with her friends. She loved attending concerts and dancing whenever the opportunity arose. Put the right music on and Olivia was up on her feet ready to “cut the rug”.
Olivia was predeceased by her husband John, who passed in 2015 after a battle with lung cancer. She is survived by her two daughters. She was being cared for at Avista Senior living in Tucson her last 6 months. Her family is truly grateful for the care that she received during this time. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends and caregivers. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 13th at Our Mother of Sorrows Parish located at 1800 S Kolb Road, Tucson AZ 85710.The rosary will begin at 10:30am and mass following at 11:00am.
