Patricia Jean Tims (Patti Pelland) – A Loving Tribute
Patricia Jean Tims (Patti Pelland) was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Patti left this world suddenly on June 15, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and loyalty to her faith, family, friends, and country. She proudly served in the military, embodying the values she held dear.
Born on November 30, 1940, in Deadwood, South Dakota, to Lawrence and Wilma Pelland, Patti moved with her family to San Manuel, Arizona, in 1955. There, she formed lifelong friendships and graduated with the class of '58 at just 17 years old. Patti, along with four lifelong friends from San Manuel, joined the army, where she rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant. During her service, she met and married Donald Tims in 1965, and together, they had two children, Greg and Julie.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Larry Pelland, and numerous other family members and close friends. Throughout her life, Patricia demonstrated a profound love for her family and friends. She cherished reminiscing about her army days and the rich history of her birth state, often sharing these stories at the family gatherings she loved to host. Known for her thoughtfulness, Patricia never missed sending personalized cards for various occasions to her loved ones. She was an avid reader with a keen interest in politics and a passion for traveling.
Patti spent many years in Blue Ridge Summit, Pennsylvania, working at Fort Ritchie. Upon retirement, she returned to Arizona to be closer to her mother, family, and Arizona friends.
Patricia is survived by her husband, Donald Tims of Tucson, Arizona; her son, Greg Tims; her daughter, Julie Tims Padgett (Dirk); her grandson, Nicholas Padgett; sister-in-law, Carolyn Pelland, and her late husband, Larry Pelland; brothers, Bill Pelland and his late wife, Billie; Jerry Pelland (Barbara); James Pelland and his late wife, Sheryl; Michael Pelland; and Raymond Pelland (Rhonda); and her sister, Melanie Castle (Greg). Patricia is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.
Service will be held on August 8, 2024 at 11:00 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church,8650 N
Shannon Rd, Tucson, AZ 85742. The burial service will be on August 9, 2024 at 10:00 at Holy Hope
