Patsy Neal Sanford's Obituary
Patsy (Patty) Neal Sanford was born in Luling, Texas, on May 10, 1931. She attended White Oak High School, in Longview, where she graduated as salutatorian. She then enrolled in the University of Texas, Austin, where during the first week of her freshman year she met William (Bill) Sanford, who she married in September of 1949.
Her first son, Ren, was born in 1951. They moved to the South Bay of Los Angeles in 1957 where their second son, Chris was born later that year. Their third son, Curt, was born in 1968.
She earned a B.A. in English literature from UCLA then worked part-time as an elementary school teacher. In 1994, after Bill retired, they moved back to Texas, settling in Round Rock. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in September 2019, shortly before Bill’s death. In 2022, Patty moved to Oro Valley, Arizona, where she lived until her passing.
Her interests included international travel; she made many trips to Mexico, Europe, and elsewhere with family. She was an avid cook, and enjoyed reading.
She is survived by her three sons: Ren (Marie), Chris (Sallie), and Curt (Vida), six grandchildren: Tom, Will, Jenny, Nate, Henry, and Emma; and her older sister Betty.
