Peggy Lou Kelley's Obituary
The world certainly became a better place with the arrival of pretty, spunky, generous, kind, loving Peggy Lou Kelley, born August 30, 1947, in Yuma, Arizona. She passed away September 20, 2016, due to complications from Alzheimer's. Preceded in death by her parents, OR and Ruth Ann Jeter; sister, Susan Scott; nephews, Aaron Rose and Michael Burns. Survived by her loving husband, James; sons, Ron (Tracey) and James, Jr. (Karey); daughters, Tammy and Tiffany (Tom); sisters, Ruth (Roger) Mobray and Kathy (Eric) Burns and brother, OR (Vickie) Jeter; 12 nieces and nephews, Burns, Mobray, Rose, and Jeter families. She was a proud grandmother to ten grandchildren, great- grandmother to seven, and "second mom" to John D. Kim. She was blessed to have true friends throughout her life, including Ruth Corbin, Ginger Lugo, Nancy Cook, Barbara Kearney, Jane Stone and the Haraway, Schone and Hawley Families. Peggy was passionate about her family and friends, children, the elderly, baking/decorating cakes, bowling, holidays and dancing. She loved flowers and hearts, hummingbirds, Elvis, and her pets. As an avid Ladies' Classic bowler, she won the 1974 Tucson Queens Tournament. She volunteered her time and creative talents as room mom at Walter Douglas Elementary School, and was a loyal fan of Loyd Wren's Flowing Wells Choralaires. While life must go on, some things just won't be the same without her and her beautiful smile. Peggy brightened our lives and we will cherish our special memories of her. Her Memorial Celebration will be held Friday, October 21, 2016, 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., at Skyline Country Club, 5200 East St. Andrews Drive, Tucson, AZ. The Kelley family extends their gratitude to the exceptional, caring staff at Ryan House, Abrazo ICU, and Estrella Mountain. In lieu of flowers, they sincerely appreciate donations in Peggy's honor at hilarityforcharity.org/take-action/donate/.
