Peter Michael Noga's Obituary
Peter Michael Noga, 78, recently of Tucson, AZ and for many years of Staten Island, NY passed away on April 27, 2026 in Tucson, AZ following a short battle with Stage 4 lung cancer and kidney failure. Born on March 7, 1948 in Long Island City, Queens to Stella and Micael Noga, Peter grew up with and developed subsequent passions for hot sauces, meteorites, fossils, Jazz (especially Miles Davis JR.), cacti, oriental rugs, cooking, books, cats, black and white fine art photograph, horror movies, and Svengoolie. When a subject particularly piqued his interest, he studied it avidly. He possessed a wealth of knowledge and was almost like AI before AI existed.
He worked many years as a Glass/Metal Engraver for Your Name Here located in Chelsea, NYC, where he was known for developing special connections with famous clientele who specifically asked for him when they came to the shop. His work was unique and incredibly creative. He had a gentle and yet strong manner which drew people to him.
Outside of work Peter lived a rather spiritual life and was happiest when sharing his experience, strength and hope with others who had spiritual issues. He will be remembered most for cooking amazing salmon and broccoli rabe on special occasions, his dry sense of humor, good listening skills, and empathic and kind manner.
Peter met his wife, Eileen, in 1995, and given their many mutual interests, especially art, music and travel, they quickly became inseparable partners and best friends. They were married in 2002 at Borough Hall on Staten Island New York,, surrounded by dear friends and family. This was Peter’s only marriage, and he especially enjoyed being the father of their many cats through the years who adored him. He loved to cook for the family (having been a former Chef) and never followed recipes. – his meals were always unique and delicious.
Peter is survived by his nephew, Paul Noga Jr., and his 2 nieces, Anita Doherty and Diane Hirrlinger. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Paul Noga Sr.
A Celebration of Life may be announced at some future time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be made to World Central Kitchen.
