Phillip Andrew Hernandez's Obituary
Phillip Andrew Hernandez 9/13/1963 - 1/29/2015 After a courageous battle with cancer our beloved husband, father, brother, son and friend passed into new life. He loved life and persevered to the end. Phil was born in Phoenix, Arizona, graduated from Alhambra High School and went on to graduate from the University of Arizona. While attending the U of A he met Elaine, his devoted and loving wife of almost 23 years, and was the proud father of three children, Christopher, 18, Claire, 17 and Emily, 15. He started his career at Clorox in the Bay Area and for the last nine years was Manager of Operations at Raytheon in Tucson. Phil attended St. Marks Catholic Church, which he loved, and was an instrumental member of the building committee, as well as a lector for the new church. His passions in life were his family, running and his enduring Faith. Not only was he supported by this Faith throughout his illness, but he was a remarkable inspiration to his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, three children; his mother, Mary; three sisters, Ann, Patty and Barbara; and his two brothers, Richard and James. He is preceded in death by his father, Carlos, and brothers, Charles and Thomas. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to St. Mark's Catholic Church, 2727 W. Tangerine Rd., Oro Valley, AZ. A Rosary and Mass will be held at St. Mark's, 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2015. The burial will be held at Holy Hope Cemetery on Friday morning at 10:00 a.m.
