Reid Harris Margolis Kotwica's Obituary
Reid Harris Margolis Kotwica born November 16th, 1977 in Tucson, Arizona; passed away March 3rd, 2014 in West Hollywood, California at the age of 36. While his time here may have been short, he lived a rich fulfilling life. As a child Reid had a passion for performance and technology; most notably he was a HAM radio operator with the call letters KB7MFB. Reid attended the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education in Hermosillo, Mexico for a year before transferring to the University of Arizona where he obtained a degree in Spanish, Communications and Linguistics in 2004. Reid was a member of the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity. During his time in college he honed his biculturalism and co-founded GreekYearbook.com which spread to several colleges throughout the US. After college he moved to San Diego where he worked in various fields before becoming a flight attendant at Delta Airlines in 2008. During this time he was based in New York and then Atlanta. In 2014, Reid moved to West Hollywood to pursue his dream of owning a high-tech company with long-time friends Jeff Raben and Zam Loomstein. Reid had a breathless charm and could befriend anyone. He kept many of these from the various chapters of his life until his passing. These friends' lives were impacted in indescribably immense ways by his love, compassion, effortless smile and passion for fun. Reid is survived by his parents, Roland and Ronni Kotwica, to whom he was their only child. His additional surviving relatives include: his uncle & aunt Dr. Harold (Susan) Margolis, and his cousins Ellis (Patricia), Leah & Amber Margolis. Reid is also survived by his partner Will Senn, and countless friends whom he cherished as family. Reid's Grandparents were Helen Letz & Maurice H. Margolis, Leonard and Elsie Tomczak. He had a special relationship with his Grammy Helen who was his confidant until her passing in 1999 due to complications of diabetes. Reid's parents would like to express their thanks for the compassion and assistance extended during this hard time by some of his closest friends: Melany Berger and Michael Kanko as well as the Loomstein & Raben families.
