Richard George Wernert Sr.'s Obituary
Dick, resident of Tucson, a wonderful husband, father and friend passed away August 25, 2014. As a young man he gave up a promising career in professional baseball by volunteering to service his country by joining the US Marine Corps. He parlayed his considerable leadership skill into a successful career with the New York Telephone Company. He was loved and will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Dick was predeceased by the love of his life, Harriet, on March 12, 2001. He leaves two sons, Bruce W. Wernert and Richard G. Wernert, Jr. He was so proud of his grandchildren; Lindsay, Kylie, Max and Sarah Beth and his great grandchildren; Ella, Charlie, Tommy, Lily and Owen. A memorial service will be held 10 AM, Saturday, August 30, 2014 at EVERGREEN MORTUARY, N. Oracle & W. Miracle Mile.
