Robert Theodore Allen's Obituary
Robert Theodore Allen was born on July 19, 1937 in Bisbee, Arizona and entered the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on October 27, 2024 from Tucson Arizona.
“Pastor Bob” entered the ministry at the age of 23 after having attended Wheaton College and Moody Bible Institute. He served as pastor in Streamwood, IL, Belmond, IA, Stanley, WI, Las Cruces, NM, North Hollywood, CA, Mesa, AZ, Napa, CA, Cottonwood, AZ and Tucson, AZ. Some of these churches he planted and to some he was called in the role of Senior Pastor. Most of these churches are Evangelical Free Churches. In his later ministry he also stood several temporary posts as interim pastor.
Bob also served on numerous boards, most notably as President of the Arizona chapter of the National Association of Evangelicals. He mentored numerous men and pastoral interns. Bob was very proud of his numerous trips to the Holy Land and surrounding biblically historical lands.
Bob is survived by one sister, Claudean, of LaPorte, TX. He leaves behind seven children and their spouses: John and Cynthia Allen, LaJuan and Brian Gregerson, two adopted children Betty Allen and Michael Allen, more natural born children: Jennifer and Dennis Dimitrov, Roberta and Sean Pollard, Timothy and Kristina Allen. Bob also leaves behind seventeen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He also leaves friends, family and church family across the U.S. and the world.
Bob is preceded in death by his beloved wife of fifty-two years, Nancy, with whom he earnestly desired to be reunited. He is also preceded by his parents, Claude and Georgia Allen, by four sisters and one granddaughter.
Bob is interred beside his wife at Evergreen Cemetery in Tucson. His memorial service will be officiated by Pastors Michael Shields and Gabriel Ponce and held at his church, GracePointe Church, 2555 W. Valencia Rd. in Tucson on November 9 at 11 a.m. Cards of condolence may be sent to 7258 S. Miller’s Tale Dr., Tucson, AZ 85756.
