Robert Joseph Miller Jr's Obituary
Robert Joseph Miller Jr., son of Robert and Kathleen, passed away April 5th. He was surrounded by his three children at Mom and Dad's rest home in Tucson, AZ after a short illness, and one day after his 88th Birthday. Bob was born in Rochester, NY in 1936 and was the oldest of three siblings (Carol and Harry). In 1959 he married his college sweetheart, Hilda Joann, and completed a master's degree in teaching while raising 2 small children in upstate NY. After the birth of their third child, the family moved to Tucson. Bob taught P.E., Science and History at Safford and Townsend Junior High Schools (God bless him for his patience). Coach Miller was a mentor and trainer to countless basketball and soccer players and captured a respectable amount of city championships and undefeated seasons along the way. Bob enjoyed traveling immensely and he and Joanne spent Summer breaks enjoying Europe, all of the US states, and serving as campground hosts on Mt Lemmon/Bonita Park for years. Bob volunteered as an elderly companion at church services and Palm missions well into his later years. Private services were held at Evergreen Mortuary and Bob's family encourages that remembrances be left for Coach here on their website.
