Robert Raymond Spencer Sr.'s Obituary
Robert “Bob” Raymond Spencer Sr.
1938 - 2016
Born to Roland and Mary Spencer in Bangor, Maine on May 29, 1938, Bob peacefully passed away on Wednesday December 28, after complications from a long fought illness. Bob was 78 years old. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Carole, sons Tom (Terri), Bob Jr., and Mike (Shanon), his amazing grandchildren Jason, Chyann, Stefanie, Brett, Bob III, Jeremy, Jesse, Nolan, and Brooklyn, his beautiful great grandchildren J.J., Lily, Slade, T.J., Jayden, Audrina, Ahlena, and Ellie, and his sisters Peggy and Susan. He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather Johnny, and brothers Roland and Ronnie.
After Bob left high school in Bangor he enlisted in the Military at 17 years old where he proudly served in the Air Force. After serving his country he relocated to California where he met and married Carole in 1963. In 1980 the family relocated to Arizona where he and Carole opened the Circle S Saloon in Marana in 1982.
Bob enjoyed listening to Elvis, had a deep love for animals, and most of all, adored and loved spending time with his family. We are so grateful for all the wonderful time we had together with him. Bob always put others ahead of himself and his kindness and generosity will be missed greatly by his family and friends.
A special thank you to all of the wonderful doctors, nurses, and care providers who did so much to enrich his last year.
Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of Bob’s life on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 11:00 AM at The Highlands at Dove Mountain, 4949 W. Heritage Club Dr., Marana.
