Robert Maxwell Tracey's Obituary
Robert “Bob” Maxwell Tracey, 82, passed away May 15th, 2022 in Tucson, Arizona. Bob was born to parents Robert and Marian Tracey nee Maxwell in Evanston, Illinois on February 23rd, 1940. Bob was their only child and grew up in Evanston and graduated from Evanston High School in 1958. After high school, Bob went on to study and graduate from Michigan State University. He was a proud Spartan and always stopped to have a good conversation with other Spartans he ran into throughout his life.
Bob was a life long die hard Chicago White Sox fan. He went to baseball games whenever he could and he even helped a family member who is a die hard Chicago Cubs fan come to respect the White Sox. He loved to travel and even visited the National Baseball Hall of Fame last summer.
Bob served in the United States Navy. He was a Vietnam War veteran and had served on the USS Annapolis. Upon returning home, Bob was an entrepreneur throughout his life. He has owned different type of business from dry cleaning, custom drapery, copy production company, and eventually became a delivery man.
Bob’s first wife died suddenly in 1980 and it had affected him greatly. He did not have children of his own. A few years after his wife’s passing, Bob met Barbara and they developed a great relationship for the last 39 years. Bob had a passion in reading educational books on Christianity and Theology. He enjoyed studying the Bible, both the Old and New Testaments, and was a devoted believer of Jesus. Bob was a generous man to any and everyone he crossed paths with.
Bob will be laid to rest this summer in the Chicago land area. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Bob’s memory to Arlington Countryside Church, 916 E. Hintz Rd, Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
