I knew Roger from Guilford High School. I didn't know him well, but I knew him well enough to know that he had a wonderful sense of humor and the friendliest disposition of anyone. He never knew a stranger and for that, I'm sure, he will be dearly missed. I don't have many memories of Roger to share, but the ones I remember always include a big smile and hearty laughter. Even after these many years, I can clearly recall the sound of his laugh. It was memorable and something I hope to never forget.
I'm sorry to hear the news of his passing. But hopefully there is some consolation in knowing that his affect on people was far and wide, even if it was brief.
