Romaine Viola Smith's Obituary
Romaine Viola Smith 94, went home peacefully to be with her Precious Lord on April 21, 2015. She was born on January 24, 1921 in Decatur, IN to Ellery E. and Ruby Johnson and grew up in Van Wert, OH. Romaine was preceded in death by her beloved husband Charles, married 55 years in 1993, and is survived by her daughter Roleen Smith Sanderson; 3 grandchildren Allison Adams Tucker, Andrea Adams, and Dr. Aric Adams; and 3 great-grandchildren Shanelle Adams, Ethan Adams, and Grace Adams. She began her entrepreneurial endeavors at age 19 with her husband Charles. Together they developed and ran Lost Creek Nursery in Lima, OH and Friendly Village Estates, the first "no-step" mobile home park in Tucson, AZ. Romaine was devoted to the Lord's work, and gave of her time and resources to the Tucson First Church of God. Her unabashed strength was a support and inspiration to all those around her, and fueled her passion for growing flowers and beautiful things, sharing in others' lives, actively supporting her family, and taking care of her Charles. Celebration of life will be held on Monday, April 27, 2015 at 2PM at the First Church of God, 3355 N Fontana Ave, Tucson, AZ 85705.
