Ronald H. Weintraub's Obituary
Ronald H. Weintraub (Ron) born March 29, 1934 in Cleveland, Ohio died on September 25, 2023, of heart failure. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School with a BS in Economics in 1955. His career included the family bakery, US Army service, Hollywood literary agent and then stockbroker with EF Hutton & Co. He and his wife Diane moved to Tucson in 1965. Ron was president and CEO of Communication Skill Builders for 30 years. The company's products and publications were used by thousands of special needs children and adults all around the world. He retired from the publishing industry in 1999. Ron was active as an officer and/or Board Member for many organizations in the Jewish and general communities both locally and nationally. They included Temple Emanu El (president) and the Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona (v.p., 1999 Man of the Year). He and Diane were married for 64 years. They founded the Weintraub Israel Center in 1997. They traveled more than 55 times to Israel, and enjoyed touring many other corners of the world and almost every State in the Union. He and his family enjoyed their San Diego summer homes. Ron and Diane were avid theater and classical music concert fans. Ron is survived by his wife, son Steve (Leslie), daughter Arlene Moskowitz (Harry) of Montclair, NJ; seven grandchildren, Aviv, Itai, Dekel and Gilad of Israel, and Aaron, Kaley (Daniel) and Juliet; and four great-grandchildren, Hallel, Lily Rose, Alumah and Logan Zeke. A daughter, Beth (Dan) Schoenfeld of Ra'anana, Israel, pre-deceased him. The family requests contributions in lieu of flowers to the Kol Ami Endowment Fund or the Gastric Cancer Foundation. A service will be held on Thursday, September 28 at 9:00 am at Evergreen Cemetery Chapel, Rabbi Malcolm Cohen officiating.
