Rose Mary McCabe's Obituary
Rose McCabe died unexpectedly on Friday, May 6th 2022 at 60 years old. She died in her residence in Arizona, a place she had grown to love for its gorgeous scenery and the home she shared with her partner of many years, Drew Corey Jones.
Rose is survived by her three children: Alison Marie, Michael Jay and Kristopher Joseph; she also had eight granddaughters: Kayla Rose, Lilian Rose, Summer Leona, Meadow Mae, Krista Denise, Hazel Mae, Violet Elizabeth and Willow Josephine. This extensive family was birthed from her marriage to Michael William McCabe, a devoted father and husband for over 20 years, of whom also passed in 2014.
Rose was a mother with unconditional love for her offspring, her desire constant and unyielding to bond with her family despite living across the country. She was consistent to reach out to her children at all times and elated whenever provided an opportunity to spend time with them. She always was proud of the beautiful families that blossomed from her and Michael’s home, considering herself truly blessed.
Beyond being a proud mother, Rose was also an exceptional athlete and outdoorsman. While living in Arizona she was always happiest outside: kayaking, hiking, running and more. She even overcame her fears and recently parachuted from 14,000 feet, as she was compelled to push herself to and past her limits.
Rose also was obsessed with the arts and especially music, spending many nights with her songs playing at full volume regardless of the objections from those around her. She found a real connection to the sounds of Arcade Fire, one of her favorite bands she loved to obsess over, as well as Nirvana and Lynyrd Skynyrd. One of her fondest memories was seeing music live with her partner, Drew, something she described in great detail on many occasions. She was also steadily learning to play several instruments, including the piano and guitar, something she enjoyed and shared with her granddaughter Lilian.
Above all else Rose was a soulful person, finding great comfort and joy in the world around her and the love of her family. Though she is now passed, the memories of her spirited personality, enduring love and eccentric humor will always reside in the lives and thoughts of her children, grandchildren and friends. She is now and will always truly be missed, loved and remembered.
