Ruth C. Lewin's Obituary
Ruth Silverman Lewin Born Oct. 21, 1919 in Columbus, NM, Ruth passed away peacefully in Tucson on January 11, 2012. She grew up in Nogales, AZ and married Louie Silverman in 1938. After his death in 1972, Ruth met and married Phillip Lewin to whom she was married until his death in 2011. In all Ruth was happily married for nearly 60 years. A master homemaker (balabusta), Ruth was a successful antiques and collectibles dealer in Tucson in the 1970's. Ruth is survived by two sons David Silverman of Lihue, Hawaii and Alan Silverman of Boston and Tucson; two stepsons, Milton Lewin of New York and Arnie Lewin of Encinitas, CA; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five siblings, Blossom Dorff and Gert Silverman of Tucson, Clarice Goodfriend of Dallas, Homer Chernin of Phoenix, and Hugh Chernin of Nogales; and cousins, nieces, nephews and other family members too numerous to count. An interment service will be held on Feb. 7 at 1:30 PM at Evergreen Cemetery. Arrangements by EVERGREEN MORTUARY & CEMETERY, N. Oracle & W. Miracle Mile.
