To Sandy's family - I was deeply sadden to read of Sandy's passing in the Peoria paper. We first met in the fall of 1970 at WIU. We were randomly put together as roommates. I knew a few people from Richwoods H.S. so we had common acquaintances right away. Sandy was a DOLL! Coming from a small town and sharing clothes with 3 sisters, I was amazed at her outfits right down to the matching shoes! And she had a stereo!!! Our room was on the top floor of the dorm. When Sandy got out of bed in the morning she would put her hand on the window to decide what to wear due to the temperature of the glass. Sandy decided to pledge a sorority and I vicariously went along for the ride at times. Once, after the pledges pulled a prank on the sisters, Sandy returned to lock herself in the dorm room to avoid revenge. Well the sisters found her and threw water under our door trying to get her to come out. I was supposed to be at a rehearsal and could not get out of the room. We laughed till we cried trying to mop up the floor with all of our towels. All in all, I loved Sandy and had a blast my freshman year with her. I ended up marrying a guy from her H.S. class, Ken Clubb, who also attended WIU. I was so thrilled to see Sandy 5 years ago at a Richwood's class reunion. However, I cried when she told me about her cancer. She was upbeat, positive and so brave. When we parted, somehow I knew I would never see her again and those sad thoughts stayed with me for a long time. I thought of you all today in prayer and hope that the love of family and friends gives your heart some peace. From her beautiful smile and her obituary I can see that Sandy was so loved and will be greatly missed. May your feel God's love through the hugs of others. Sincerely, Froncie Clubb Peoria, IL
