Sandra G. Shaffer

Jim, our hearts have been saddened by the passing of Sandra. She was a precious neighbor and friend. Looking back, time seems to have passed so quickly since your move from the neighborhood that we shared for so many years. But our thoughts of you and Sandra have remained with us over here on "Sandra Rd.". The unforgettable scent of her hot house tomatoes and vegetables forever lead us back to Sandra and continue to live on in our memory of her. Our beautiful memories of Sandra will remain in our hearts forever. Sleep well dear Sandra. We will see you in Heaven. Praise God for this promise. (The Martin Family - Stan and Kathy)

Sandra was a wonderful friend of many years. She always had a smile and a witness for our Lord and Savior. She was an avid reader and gardener. No one left her garden without a bag of veggies or fruit. We first met in Tonopah, Nevada, when both of our husbands were in the Air Force. She introduced us to tacos, which we now love but none are as good as her homemade ones. Sandra never met a stranger and welcomed many to her home. Even though we did not see Sandra and Jim often, we stayed in touch for 49 years through phone calls. She and Jim came to Mississippi a few years ago to visit in our home and whenever we were traveling west to see family, we always planned a stop to visit with them. Her smile and contagious laugh will be greatly missed.
We know she is enjoying worshipping God with her family and friends that are in heaven and being free of cancer.
