Shelby Jean Asbury's Obituary
Shelby Jean Asbury - At the age of 80, passed away quietly on January 18th. She was a Wife, a Mother, a Grandmother Great-Grandmother and Great, Great-Grandmother, and a friend to all. Shelby is survived by her Son: Robert and Grandchildren:Jenny, John, Micheal, Lynee, Javawn, Misty, Micheal and Dustin, as well as many other great-grandchildren and great, great-grandchildren.
Shelby was a woman who loved the Lord and her family, and this is where she drew her strength and left her legacy. She was a soul winner. Always ready to share the word of God with anyone. She taught, held home Bible studies, even helped with bus ministry. Whatever it was, people saw the light of the Lord in Her.
Shelby suffered most of her life with serious illness. Yet through it all, Her Love for the Lord and all her family remained her focus. Even as ill as she was at times, she would put other's needs ahead of her own. This performance through adversity is a powerful lesson for all who survive her.
Shelby always said that she didn't people to mourn her passing, but to rejoice. The Bible says in the book of Ecclesiastes 3:1: To everything, there is a season and a time to every purpose under Heaven. Ecc 3:4: a time to weep, and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance. This is that time... We weep and mourn the loss of Shelby Jean Asbury, yet, we laugh and dance and take comfort in knowing that She is with the Lord and knows no more suffering.
