Shirley was a treasured friend for more than 40 years. She was my first 'rancher friend' who in the early years mentored me (a New Jersey girl) on the role of a ranch wife. Not such an easy task!! She was encouraging and patient with a ready beautiful smile and easy going manner and sense of humor. It was always a delight for our family to spend time with Shirley and Alan and their family often on their ranch in Apache Springs where we went for lovely hikes, picnics, rode horses, played pool and enjoyed her great cooking. Even when we didn't connect for months at a time, we always picked up where we left off...dear lifelong friends. Shirley you are loved and missed so very much.
