Shirley Zeisler's Obituary
Shirley Zeisler, 98, mother of Bonnie and Jerry, wife of the late Joseph Zeisler, grandmother to Samantha, great-grandmother to Jasper, and mother-in-law to David Smith and Marlene Iris Zeisler, passed away peacefully in her home on May 18, 2024. Shirley leaves an endearing legacy of being a wonderful, caring, and loving member of her close-knit family.
After retiring from the NY Telephone Company in a position of helping others, her love and passion for children inspired her to dedicate countless hours over many years to teaching and tutoring children in need of reading skills, receiving numerous awards from local entities including elementary schools and the United Way of Tucson, including the Unidos Para Servir (UPS) Family Friends Program. In earlier years, she dedicated many personal hours to soliciting donations for Deborah Hospital in New Jersey, a teaching hospital that specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of congenital and acquired heart, lung, and vascular diseases.
Shirley was the matriarch of the family, and ensured that she kept in touch with friends and family far and wide, maintaining relationships across generations that her children continue to build upon today.
Shirley’s dedication to her family and others has been an inspiration to all of us. She will be missed by many.
