Solomon Steinfeld's Obituary
Solomon C. Steinfeld, beloved patriarch, passed away on December 24, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. He lived fully for almost 104 years. Sol was born on March 26, 1911, in New York City. Educated at City College and Columbia University, Sol dedicated his working life to education. He was a distinguished teacher and business department chair, who authored numerous businesses, bookkeeping and accounting textbooks for high school and college students. He was known and loved for his caring, enthusiasm and interest in all people. In 1983, he retired to Tucson with his late wife Mollie where he continued to write his textbooks. For the past twenty years, he has shared his life with Frances Cohen, his loving companion and best friend. For those that knew him even at 103 years, he died too young. He is survived by daughter Judith (Gerald) Fleischner and son Joel (Alice) Steinfeld. He is also survived by grandchildren Cindy Fleischner, Jeff (Jamie) Fleischner, Amy (Ben) Small and Jacob (Mercedes) Steinfeld. He was blessed with seven great grandchildren: Mollie, Josh, Jack, Ellie, Ari, Hudson and Quincy. In addition, he is survived by the Sosnow family from Scottsdale and Albany, NY. Our families would like to thank all of his family and friends who enriched his life. Sol touched many people with his positive attitude and will be remembered for his "every day is a bonus day" greeting each day. We will miss you Papa. Chapel Service, 1:00 PM, Friday, December 26, 2014 at EVERGREEN MORTUARY, N. Oracle & W. Miracle Mile with Rabbi Robert Eisen officiating. Interment to follow in Congregation Anshei Israel Section of Evergreen Cemetery. Arrangements by EVERGREEN MORTUARY & CEMETERY, www.evergreen-tucson.com
