Sonia Barr's Obituary
Sonia Barr passed away on May 17, 2019. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. A woman ahead of her time, her home was always open full of laughter and good food. An artist to the end, she was creative as a homemaker, wife and member of the community. She belonged to AMIT and founded a chapter in Tucson continuing her participation from Mizrachi Women in Brooklyn. President of the Ladies Auxiliary at Yeshivah Ohel Moshe. She ran several charity events. Welcoming challenge she was a member of an art group “in over my head” with whom she pushed her artistic ability. Sonia will be missed by her children Stefi and Alan (Donita). Grandchildren, Jeff and Jason (Lucia), Ariel (Becca), Phillip, Amanda (Mindy), and Brandon. Great grand-children, Josh, Lucy, Riley, Sadie, Camden, Ava and Adelle. Sisters Carol and Bernice, sisters-in-law Sherry and Thelma; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Larry Barr. Graveside services were held May 20 at Evergreen Mortuary in the Congregation Young Israel Section. Services were officiated by Rabbi Mendy Deitsch. A memorial service will be held at Chabad of the East Valley on Tuesday, May 21st at 6:30 PM.
