Soo Suk Kim, age 80, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2024. Born in Seoul, South Korea, Soo Suk Kim emigrated to the United States with a fervent passion for art and architecture. Settling in New York City, he made significant contributions to both fields, leaving a lasting impact with his innovative designs and creative vision. A dedicated artist and designer, Soo Suk Kim was known for his boundless enthusiasm and remarkable talent. His love for music, particularly opera and classical compositions, was a defining aspect of his life. Soo also had a passion for educating, and spent the remainder of his career teaching at New York Institute of Technology. He embraced each day with humor, dedication, and a deep sense of love for those around him. Soo lived a full and vibrant life, marked by a commitment to his passions and a belief in living life to its fullest. His legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him, especially the uniquenesses that defined him. He is survived by his family, who will remember him for his warmth, creativity, and laughter he brought into their lives. A memorial service celebrating his life and achievements will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Tucson, AZ on Friday October 4th at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the National Art Education Association (https://my.arteducators.org/donate), honoring his love for the arts.
