Arunas and I often talk about the legacy that we want to leave. Years ago when I first met Stan I asked him "what is the one thing that you think you are an expert at?" Out of all the accomplishments that he had in his life, he said it was being a fly fisherman.
Some think that a legacy means money, or a building, I think about the importance of what each generation passes to the next.
Thank you for leaving us the legacy of being a good man, loving his wife and kids, and being an heck of an angler.
Rest in peace my friend.
Kimberly
The first time I met Stan was in Nashville TN.. He and Armida came to town to see Arunas (Stan's son) and to meet me (the new girl friend). As Stan was asking questions about me and my family, he discovered that my dad was a big angler as well. Which at that point Stan challenged me to a fish filleting contest. He wanted to see how much fish I could filet in an hour.
I think back now to memories that make me smile. Stan was an incredible teacher of life and told me that other than being a great husband to Armida that being a fisherman was what he was best at.
Rest well my friend and thank you for welcoming me into your family.
Kimberly Goessele Vanagunas.
