Susan Stoker Cummins' Obituary
Susan, age 67, passed away January 24, 2014 in Tucson, AZ. She is survived by her husband of almost 44 years Dr. Michael Cummins, her sons Christopher and Timothy (Rebecca), sister Jean Belz (Ray), brother Dr. Thomas Stoker (Venetia Guerrasio), niece Elizabeth Stoker and nephews Todd Foster, Casey Foster and Jonathan Stoker. She is preceded in death by her mother Mary Rybus and her father Dr. Martin Stoker. She was born on April 17, 1946 in Elmhurst, IL. She spent her childhood years in Elmhurst and was an excellent student. While attending York High School, she was the only student to earn an American Field Service international scholarship to study in Scotland. She moved to Tucson in 1969 where she met and married her husband Michael. She was a lifelong volunteer and a generous and loving person. She especially loved her children and volunteered for numerous fund raisers during their school years. She joined Angel Charity for Children in 1991 where she served on the Executive Committee, Board of Directors and most recently as a Ten Plus member. She enjoyed the music of Jimmy Buffett and assisted the Desert Sharks Parrot Head Club with frequent fundraisers. She has been a member of the Tucson Museum of Art League for the past few years. She was also an avid scuba diver and enjoyed diving in the British Virgin Islands. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 10:30 am in the La Paloma Ballroom, Embassy Suites Hotel, 3110 E. Skyline Drive (Skyline & N. Campbell). In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her name to Angel Charity for Children.
