Tamara Meadors Born December 13, 1923 in Donetsk, Ukraine entered into eternal life on a beautiful snowy morning in Tucson Arizona on February 21, 2013 surrounded by her family. Tamara is survived by her daughters Helen Meadors, Adaline (Daniel) Klemmedson of Tucson Arizona, her son Victor (Mary) Meadors of Scottsdale Arizona, her sister Lidia Kolmyk and niece Tanja (Robert) Ancrum of Chicago Illinois, granddaughter Tamara (Gary) Maki and great-grandson James Maki of Tucson Arizona. Predeceased by husband John H. Meadors, CWOII, mother Maria Bao and brother-in-law Ilko Kolmyk. Tamara spent her early life in Donetsk, Ukraine and survived WWII to meet her husband John H. Meadors, a while in the U.S. Army in Germany. After some military travelling, they settled in Sierra Vista, AZ in 1959. She helped her husband run Meadors Grocery, a small mom and pop store that all the neighborhood kids loved to come to because of her friendliness, warmth and the candy! After the store closed, she worked at McCrorys for 20 years, continuing to provide a smiling face to those that came to shop. She was active in local politics and served as a Democratic Precinct Chair for many years. She was also a Buena Booster and supported the many activities of her children. As a member of the Russian Orthodox Church, she helped establish regular services in Sierra Vista. She left many friends in Sierra Vista when she moved to Tucson to be with her family. Tamara loved to travel and was fortunate to be able to return to her birthplace on a number of occasions where she was able to reunite with her remaining family member and friends from her youth. Her loving presence and support to all of her family and friends will be greatly cherished and missed. Services Friday, February 22, 2013, 6:00 PM at EVERGREEN MORTUARY, N. Oracle & W.
