Terry Lynn Williams' Obituary
Terry Lynn Williams was born in Morenci, Arizona on November 8, 1940, to Thomas and Hazel Jewell. Her family later moved to Spokane, Washington, where she graduated from Rogers High School and attended Eastern Washington University. She married Gary Williams on October 9, 1960. In addition to raising their own three children, Terry and Gary were devoted foster parents and foreign exchange student hosts. Terry was passionate about dogs and owned a dog grooming shop in Spokane for many years. She was also a very gifted and prolific quilter, especially in her retirement years, and donated many quilts to charity.
Terry and Gary converted to Judaism in 1985 and were very devout in their faith. In 2006, they moved to Tucson, Arizona and Terry became an extremely active volunteer. She served for The Jesterettes, The Daughters of the Nile, Ben’s Bells, The Golden Goose gift shop, the Tucson Food Bank, and her synagogue, Congregation Anshei Israel, holding many leadership positions over the years.
Terry is preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Gary, and a granddaughter. She is survived by her sisters Mike Lawrence and Jackie Disotell, her brother Kevin Jewell and his wife Judy, daughter Shayne McCaslin, son Aaron Scott Williams and his wife Jennifer, daughter Heather Snyder and her husband Rod, 6 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
Terry was an avid hiker right up to her final days. She was a woman of great beauty, faith, and energy, and will be missed by all who knew her.
Terry passed away August 16, 2022. Graveside service will be Friday, August 19 at 11:30am at Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Terry’s memory to Congregation Anshei Israel.
