Thelma Goldberg's Obituary
Thelma Bernice Goldberg passed away in Tucson, AZ, on January 10, 2020. The daughter of Yetta and Samuel Sporn of Brooklyn, New York, she was born on August 9, 1928. A graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School, Thelma received a bachelor’s degree from Nasson College and a master’s degree from the University of Connecticut. She had a long and fulfilling career as a teacher of business subjects at John Jay High School in Cross River, New York, and she also taught at Lamson Business College in Tucson, AZ.
A gifted and talented pianist, Thelma enjoyed going to concerts and the opera, reading, traveling, knitting and doing needlepoint, and spending time with her family. She was also active in B’nai Brith and Hadassah.
Preceded in death by husband Milton, Thelma is survived by daughters Gail (James) Tinsley, Laurie (Paul) Snyder, and Karen Goldberg; grandchildren Jeremy Snyder, Daniel Snyder, Channa Snyder, and Rebecca Tinsley; and great-granddaughter Aurora Tinsley.
