Thelma I. Myers' Obituary
Thelma Irene (Pfaff) Myers, 94, was born in Indianapolis, IN on July 23, 1921. She passed from this life November 17, 2015. She married David Franklin Myers in 1938. Mrs. Myers lived in Bloomington, Indiana until 1973; at which time they moved to Tucson, Arizona.
She was employed at Indiana University until she moved to Tucson, where she was employed by Tucson Unified School District until retirement. Mrs. Myers was a member of Faith Tabernacle Church, Tucson, AZ. Mrs. Myers loved to travel visiting forty-nine states, Canada and Mexico. She made her last trip, traveling to Bloomington, Indiana, for the Pfaff reunion at age 93. She enjoyed camping and fishing with her family. She loved her church, friends and her home was always open to visitors. She enjoyed making cookies and candy at Christmas and holidays. She had a special love for her grandchildren and was an extraordinary grandmother.
Mrs. Myers was preceded in death by her husband David Franklin Myers on June 10, 2004; parents Delmar Orange Pfaff and Stella May (Schwartz) Pfaff; son James Franklin Myers; daughter Stella Virginia (Myers) Brewer; three great grandchildren; one brother Samuel Pfaff; two sisters Sarah Angeline (Pfaff) Bower and Karen Pfaff.
She is survived by one child, Dorothy I. (John) Puckett of Tucson, AZ; son-in-law Franklin Eugene Brewer of Tucson, AZ; four sisters Marcelle (Pfaff) Allen of Bull Shoals, AR, Martha Jo (Pfaff) Minnick of Ellettsville, IN, Mary Darlene Pfaff of Bloomington, IN, Bonnie Ruth
(Pfaff) Austin of Franklin, KY; and one brother Delmar Glen Pfaff of Martinsville, IN; seven grandchildren, Jeannie (David) Shaffer of Wells, MI, David (Sharon) Puckett of Williston, ND, Kelly (Dan) Pool of Richardson, TX, Greg (Deanna) Puckett of Woodstock, GA, Rosemary Myers of Louisville, KY, Pamela Brewer of Tucson, AZ and Raymond (Joann) Myers of Horse Cave, KY; sixteen great grandchildren; twenty-six great, great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Faith Tabernacle, 5011 E. Fort Lowell Road. Interment will be in EVERGREEN CEMETERY. Family will receive visitors at the mortuary 4 – 7 PM Wednesday, November 18, 2015 or at the church Thursday prior to the service.
