Thomas William Gillespie Jr.'s Obituary
Thomas “Tom” W. Gillespie, Jr. died July 8, 2015 near Gila Bend, Arizona. He was 63 years old.
Tom was born in Neptune, New Jersey, but lived in Arizona most of his life. Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas W. Gillespie, Sr. and Edda Belle Reynolds. He is survived by his brother, George (Karen) and their 3 children and also his children, Jennifer (Robert) Miller; Heather (James) Sheffer; Carrie Gillespie; Thomas Gillespie, III; Tina (Wes) Portwood; and 12 grandchildren. Tom was passionate about Education and taught science and mathematics for over 30 years. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served a 2 year mission in Argentina from 1975-1977. Tom will be remembered for his love of his students at TUSD's TAP program, and also his love for the University of Arizona which he graduated from in 1981. Funeral Services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints chapel 3750 E. Ft Lowell Tucson, AZ on July 18, 2015 at 10:00am. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Tucson, AZ. Those attending the funeral are asked to wear red and blue in honor of Tom's love of the University of Arizona.
