Virginia Rusk's Obituary
Virginia L. Rusk, 93, of Tucson, AZ ,  passed away on January 11, 2019.  She was born on Oct. 6, 1925 in Trenton, Missouri to Floyd and Edith Winter. She married Mr. Beverly Rusk on June 24, 1944, and they were married 42 years before his passing.  She is survived by son, Dennis (Janice) Rusk of Moline, IL; daughter, Jean (Ray) Vermeulen of Maricopa, AZ; and son, Paul (Donna) Rusk of Hoffman Estates, IL.  She is survived by 8 grandchildren: Kristy (Mike) Thorne, Kim Stinson, Mark (Sharon) Rusk, Kelly (Dan) LoPresti, Eric (Katie) Rusk, Jason (Michelle) Rusk, Steve (Denise) Rusk, and Stacey (Alan) Werts. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren: Ryan and Bailey Thorne; Kylie and Courtney Stinson; Ashlyn and Madelyn Rusk; Gianna and Nicholas LoPresti; Tyler and Tanner Rusk; and Bryanna Garard and Carver Werts.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Beverly Rusk, parents, two brothers, and five sisters.
Virginia sold World Book Encyclopedias and then worked at M.L. Parker Department Store as a Personnel Manager for 15 years. In 1975, she moved to Tucson due to her husband’s health, where she worked for Uniforms Unique and Jeri’s Uniforms. She retired from Keenan’s Pipe and Supply after many years of service.
Virginia received the opportunity of a lifetime when her husband won a trip through his employer, giving them the chance to travel to Madrid, Spain and the Straits of Gibraltar.
Virginia enjoyed life and that was evident in her love for her family and by the stories she shared.  She never met a stranger, and she was a real “people person.”  She found her happiness in sharing stories and jokes with anyone she met.  She was a member of A.C.E.S., her local senior citizen group, for over 20 years, where she left behind many good friends.
Visitation will be held at Evergreen Mortuary on Thursday, January 17,2019 from 4:00-6:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be held the following day, Friday, January 18, 2019 at 2:00 p.m.
