Vivian W. Dellow's Obituary
Vivian Margery (Weaver) Dellow was born September 7, 1932 in Cortland, New York to AJ Weaver and Ruth Storie (Keagle) Weaver.
She went to a one room school house until she graduated. Then, went on to attend State University Teachers College at Geneseo. She finished her senior year with her practical training at East Rochester Elementary School and graduated in 1954 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Library Sciences.
She met Walter Dellow at a dance in Dryden, New York and they fell in love and were married in 1955. They moved with three of their four children, Pamela, Michael and Edward by train to Tucson in July of 1959. She also met one of her best lifelong friends Marvel Vergara Ross in 1959 at the Tucson Bowl . Her fourth child Patricia, was born in Tucson in 1963.
Vivian's first position in Tucson was at The Little Red School House. She later went on to teach her love of books through the library at Elvira Elementary School.
In 1969 the family moved to Douglas, Arizona where she taught 3rd grade at Joe Carlson Elementary School until a position opened up at the New Junior High on 15th St. She retired from the Douglas School System at the age of 58 years old.
In Douglas in 1969 also, she joined Beta Sigma Phi and Eastern Star. She was also an active member of the Elks as a Doe.
They moved back to Tucson briefly before following Walt's brother Edgar Dellow to Mount Vernon, Missouri in 1995. While in Missouri, she volunteered at The Missouri Rehabilitation Center (The Chest Hospital) in the gift shop. She transferred her membership in BSP and Eastern Star, and she also joined the Linus Project and begin knitting blankets for children in need. She donated more than 250 blankets to the project.
In 2015 Vivian and Walt moved back to Tucson where she was active in the Tortolita Presbyterian Church, BSP, Eastern Star and the Linus Project.
In 2021, she moved into Sunrise Senior Living in Tucson where she made many new, wonderful friends.

She is survived by: Pamela Beal (daughter), Micheal Dellow (son), Edward Dellow (son) & Toni (wife) and Patricia Phelps (daughter), ten grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
