Wally was my first supervisor at Burr-Brown. Working with him has taught me the importance of being passionate about innovation and to fight for what we believe in. It was a pleasure to know Wally. Our heartfelt condolances to Kandis and the family.
My heartfelt sympathies to your family. From my first meeting Wally back in 1985, I was impressed with his passion for his job and technology. Later I found he was an accomplished dancer and rock climber, among other interests. I was very fortunate to have known and worked with Wally.

Wally had a rare, general, intellectual depth. The devices and processes that he helped create will have a lasting impact on society. Only a year ago, he kept the youngsters on their toes in the Arabian Coffee scenes in the Nutcracker. This year, he did it again as the Mouse King with a stately, �the show must go on� spirit under circumstances that would have had most in bed. A wealth of information lost. Sad condolences to the Meinel family. Wally will be greatly missed.

Wally Meinel was the consummate engineer � he always led by facts and overcame many technical challenges with his pragmatic, persistent, and calm approach. I had the privilege to become acquainted and work with Wally over the past few years. He was a remarkable individual and a great team member � I will miss him.
