Ward Wood Wallingford's Obituary
Born September 4, 1931 in Louisville, Kentucky. Died December 10, 2024 in Tucson, Arizona.
After graduating from Indiana University and serving in the US Army as a Second Lieutenant, Ward earned universal admiration as an investment counselor managing funds for municipalities, unions, hospitals and businesses across the country.
He retired in 1995, moved to Tucson and began volunteering with The Nature Conservancy, The Arizona Historical Society, The Beacon Foundation, SCORE, the Pima County Democrats, and the Gabrielle Giffords Congressional Campaign. He also served on the Board of Directors at the Rogue Theatre.
Ward Married Judith O’Rourke in Chicago in 1979, and together they traveled throughout the United States, Europe, Asia, Mexico and South America. He enjoyed black and white photography and spent many hours in a darkroom he created at his home.
Ward is Survived by his wife, Judith, as well as children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren from a previous marriage. Children Allen (Libby) of Ponte Vedra, FL, Brian (Elizabeth) of Boise, ID, and Jane Levin (Howard) of Erie, PA and Dove Mountain, AZ. Grandchildren Madeline Elway (Jack), Myles, Maxwell, Scott (Hannah), Gregory, Charles (Nancilee), Andrew, Jack, Step grandchildren Sam and Emily. He is also survived by great grandson Owen and great granddaughter Marley.
The family would like to thank Shepherd Hills Senior Care and Hospice in the Desert for their outstanding care.
In keeping with Ward’s wishes, there will be no services. He instead requested that memorial contributions be sent to The Rogue Theatre 300 E. University Blvd., Tucson, AZ 85705.
