Wayne Maake's Obituary
Wayne Maake of Tucson, AZ joined his heavenly father and family after losing his battle with cancer September 14, 2015. He was the youngest of five children born to John and Martha (Holscher) Maake on May 26, 1935 in Douglas, Nebraska. He graduated from Douglas High School in 1953, attended Peru College, and served in the US Army from 1954-1957. In June of 1958 he married Mary (Burns) Maake and they had four children. The family moved to Arizona in 1976. He enjoyed remote control airplanes, the Arizona Wildcats basketball and football and NASCAR, especially a big fan of Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson & Dale Earnhardt. He also enjoyed trips to the Casino! He is survived by wife Mary of 57 years; four children, Janette (Butch) Valenzuela, Robert W. Maake (Rene), Cheryl (Duane) Bergmann, Lynda (Ken) Miller all of Tucson, AZ; seven grandchildren, Michael, Kristine, Steven, Brian, Amber, Cassandra, and Katie; five great grandchildren and loving nieces and nephews. He was preceeded in death by his parents; four siblings, sisters Ilene (Sam) Fraizer, Donna May (Hugh) Hesson, Opal (William T.) McNeil, brother Virgil (Gail) Maake; and stepfather Wellington J.
